Canada is the second largest country after Russia and is located north of the United States of America. It is known for its natural beautiful scenery, snow capped mountains, vast landscape and rich farmlands, with a unique blend of history and culture. Along with the legacy of Canada's First Nation history it also has a rich French and British colonial heritage.   • Do know that temperatures vary from plus 40°C to minus 40° so dress suitable

  • Do greet with a handshake and light hugs amongst friends. In French speaking areas a kiss on the cheek is common

  • Do know that Canadians tend to speak in a direct informal manner with eye contact and respect and are  polite and friendly

  • Do know that English Canadians value their personal space during conversation and there is little to no touching 

  • Do be punctual for appointments and events. Time is valued.

  • Do dress for work according to industry and management level. Business casual dressing is common and suits for meetings

  • Do know that Canadians interact on first name basis but wait to be invited to 

  • Do give a gift at dinner party. The host will usually appear reluctant to take it but it is expected

  • Don't interrupt, argue or be noisy in a meeting. It is not considered polite
